Our services
College Checkmate LLC provides independent educational coaching, planning, accountability, and student-support services under the Checkmate College brand. Students begin in the journey that matches where they are today: Getting to College or In College. A student can keep the same account, membership, teammate, and history as the active Board changes with their journey.
We are not a college, university, school, admissions office, law firm, financial adviser, tax preparer, medical or mental-health provider, crisis service, or government agency.
2 teammates • 1 goal • 0 guesswork
The two teammates are the student and the assigned Checkmate College human teammate. Family members may support the student, but family participation does not change who the two teammates are. The Board is designed to make the next useful action clear; the student remains responsible for choices, submissions, attendance, and completing required work.
No guaranteed outcomes
Admissions, scholarships, financial aid, enrollment, course grades, academic standing, registration, graduation, and other decisions are made by students or third parties. Checkmate College does not guarantee acceptance, awards, aid amounts, enrollment, grades, retention, graduation, or any other outcome.
Student work and academic integrity
We may provide brainstorming, coaching, editing, feedback, planning, study-support guidance, and communication templates. We do not complete applications, essays, assignments, exams, or other materials for substantially unaltered submission as the student’s own work. Students remain responsible for following each institution’s academic-integrity and AI rules.
Membership and billing
The standard membership is $210 per monthly service period unless another price is agreed in writing. A new membership begins with a two-month initial commitment: $210 is charged at activation and $210 is charged on the next monthly billing date, for a $420 minimum initial commitment billed monthly. After the first two paid monthly service periods, the membership renews month to month until canceled. A cancellation request may be submitted during the initial commitment, but it does not eliminate the second committed monthly payment. After the initial commitment, to stop the next renewal the Client may email help@checkmatecollege.com before the next billing date, subject to the Client Services Agreement and Cancellation Policy. Payment processing may be handled by Stripe or another third-party provider.
The person responsible for membership or billing may be the student, a parent, or another authorized payor. Billing authority is separate from student-information access. Paying for an adult student does not itself create access to that student’s Board, messages, progress, Team Huddle information, or other private information.
Availability and support boundaries
The membership guarantees two scheduled 30 minute Zoom Team Huddles during each monthly service period. The first Team Huddle for a new Checkmate College relationship is centered on the Game Plan; the first Team Huddle for Checkmate College is centered on the Semester Game Plan, as applicable. The membership also includes proactive follow up and between-session access for reasonable quick questions, clarification, and next-Move guidance by available channels such as Board message, text, email, or phone. If something important genuinely needs more live time, the Student may request an additional Team Huddle. Checkmate College may approve one additional 30 minute Team Huddle for that monthly service period when a live conversation is reasonably useful to keep the Student moving, subject to availability. An approved third Team Huddle under this policy has no additional charge. It is need-based and does not become an automatic or recurring monthly entitlement.
Messages are asynchronous and are not continuously monitored. Checkmate College’s service standard is to respond quickly. Messages received during the day are ordinarily answered that same day. Messages received late at night are ordinarily answered the next morning, often by 7 AM. This is not an emergency or 24/7 service, and unusual circumstances such as illness, travel, outages, holidays, or a request that requires additional research may cause delay. Longer planning, document review, or coaching conversations belong in a scheduled Team Huddle or another appointment agreed to in advance. Membership does not include unlimited on-demand meetings, unlimited revisions, or guaranteed immediate responses.
Checkmate College is not an emergency or 24/7 response service. For immediate danger or urgent health or safety needs, use 911, 988 where appropriate, campus safety, or the appropriate local service.
Membership lifecycle
The platform may display service states such as Active, Break / Summer, Paused, Cancelling, Ended, or Restarting so everyone can understand what happens next. These service-state labels do not themselves charge, refund, pause, cancel, or restart third-party billing. Billing changes must be handled through the applicable billing or cancellation process. When possible, a returning student can restart with the same account and preserved history rather than beginning from scratch.
Age and parent authorization
The online platform is intended for students age 13 or older. A parent or legal guardian must enroll and authorize participation for a student age 13–17. Checkmate College uses a recorded date of birth to support automatic age-transition rules.
Adult student family sharing
At age 18, minor-based family access pauses. The adult student decides who stays on the family team and what each person may see or help with. Adult sharing choices may be changed or revoked prospectively. Membership administration and billing remain separate from those privacy choices.
Customer responsibilities
Students and families are responsible for providing accurate information, reviewing official school and government instructions, submitting materials on time, attending appointments, maintaining access to their official accounts, and making final decisions. Checkmate College may remind, organize, coach, and guide, but the customer remains responsible for completing required actions.
Official sources
When an official school, government agency, scholarship provider, testing organization, or other authoritative source conflicts with general guidance or a saved resource, the current official source controls.
Intellectual property
Checkmate College branding, original materials, roadmaps, templates, and website content are owned by College Checkmate LLC or used with permission. Customers may use materials provided to them for their own personal educational planning but may not resell or redistribute them commercially.
Release and limitation
The signed Client Services Agreement contains important provisions concerning release of certain ordinary-negligence claims and limitation of liability. Those provisions are presented for separate acknowledgment during enrollment and control the paid service relationship to the extent permitted by law.

Team Huddle changes and grace
Students should give at least 12 hours’ notice whenever reasonably possible for a cancellation or reschedule. Proper reschedules do not use an additional Team Huddle. Checkmate College generally gives reasonable grace for an occasional late cancellation. Repeated late cancellations or a missed Team Huddle without notice may count toward the monthly Team Huddle allowance. Checkmate College-caused changes never count against the Student. Genuine emergencies or unusual circumstances may receive additional grace.
